On the occasion of World Rangers Day 2024, the Nature and Wildlife Association (NWA) and SNAP Foundation had the opportunity to join the Forest Rangers’ Association of West Bengal in recognising the essential role played by forest rangers in conserving our natural heritage.
The event was held at Sukna, in the presence of key dignitaries including:
- Shri Goutam Deb, Honourable Mayor
- Mr. Bhasker JV, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) North
- Senior forest officials and representatives from allied organisations

This gathering served as a platform to appreciate the day-to-day challenges faced by forest rangers and to acknowledge their critical contributions toward the protection of forests, wildlife, and ecological balance.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all forest rangers for their continued dedication, vigilance, and service on the frontline of conservation. Their consistent efforts are central to sustaining the health of ecosystems and ensuring coexistence between people and wildlife.
