Welcome to Nature and Wildlife Association (NWA)

The NWA is dedicated to mitigating Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) in non-forest areas of North Bengal, encompassing the Kurseong Division, Baikunthapur Division, and Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Need for Action

Human-elephant conflict continues to cause loss of lives, damage to properties and crops, and rising tension in the border communities.

NWA executes various workshops with the local community and forest staffs, involving capacity building program to minimize crop damage and conflict posed by the elephant movements.

We believe that coexistence is only possible when local people are informed, equipped, and involved.
