As the cropping season approaches, NWA organized a crucial refresher training session with mitigation tools updation for Quick Response Teams (QRTs) focused on Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) mitigation. This training aimed to enhance the capacity and preparedness of QRTs in effectively managing wildlife interactions, particularly with elephants, which can pose significant challenges to local communities and agricultural activities.

The training covers a comprehensive update on existing and newly updated HEC Alert App by NWA, mitigation tools, and community engagement strategies.

By enhancing the knowledge and skills of QRTs, this refresher training focuses on reducing the incidents of human-elephant conflicts, ensuring a safer and more sustainable coexistence between wildlife and local communities during the upcoming crop season. The initiative underscores the commitment of NWA to proactive wildlife management and community engagement with Forest Department, Government of West Bengal.
