What We Do?

At Nature and Wildlife Association (NWA), we work to protect wildlife and support peaceful coexistence between animals and people. Our efforts focus on reducing human-wildlife conflict, especially in areas with frequent elephant movement. We combine community engagement, technology, and field-based solutions to make conservation effective and practical.

Identify Conflict Hotspots

Map and analyze areas where human-elephant conflicts are frequent to take targeted action.

Monitor Elephant Movement

Use real-time tracking and local reports to follow elephant routes and alert nearby communities.

Support Forest Department with Tools and Data

Provide field data, tech support, and research insights to strengthen wildlife protection efforts.

Raise Conservation Awareness

Organize outreach campaigns, school programs, and village meetings to promote peaceful coexistence with wildlife.

Train Local Response Teams

Empower community volunteers and forest staff with training to safely manage conflict situations.

Conservation

We believe that conservation is only possible with the active involvement of local people. That’s why we work closely with local communities in non-forest areas through awareness campaigns, livelihood support, and feedback mechanisms.

Collaboration

We actively support forest departments with tools during conflict seasons, collaborate with institutions like NEWS, organize workshops for forest personnel and engages in transboundary cooperation and regional knowledge exchanges.

Our Team

Our team at NWA is a passionate group of wildlife researchers, field experts, conservationists, and trained volunteers dedicated to protecting both elephants and human communities. Together, we combine scientific knowledge, grassroots action, and local partnerships to create a sustainable future for North Bengal’s wildlife and people.
